TOBB University of Economics and Technology – Campus Planning, Twin Dormitories, Center of Technology, Vocational School of Foreign Languages

Our main intention for TOBB campus design has been to turn the university site into an ‘oasis’ and a natural habitat for various functions in Ankara. Country gardens, ponds, wooden decks, sports fields, woodlands, vista terraces, and recreational areas provide privileged outdoor spaces for students, academicians and other university personnel.

The Center of Technology that was designed as a closed box, is surrounded by trees, shrubs, and herbaceous plants. A natural enclosed courtyard in the middle of the Center is enriched by a shade-giving, symbolic linen tree, together with cedar trees and elms. We approach such a neutral architecture by creating a green circle surrounding ‘the box’, a ‘smart box’ having a ‘green core’, a green core by a ‘linear life canal’.

Vocational School of Foreign Languages has accessed from the main boulevard, holds a pedestrian alley, i.e., spine of the campus, which is defined by trees on both sides and which is represented by all colors.

TOBB University has 487.400 m2 high quality area for student dormitories with comfortable uses in a large courtyard-park and green texture.
